High Power TVS Diodes

Eaton High Power TVS Diodes deliver reliable overvoltage protection with fast response times, low clamping voltage, and high peak current capability for electronic equipment. These devices utilize silicon avalanche technology to protect critical circuits against damaging transient surges, including electrostatic discharge (ESD), electrical fast transient (EFT), and lightning strikes. The high peak power, current capability, and fast-acting response times make these diodes ideal for protecting critical circuits. Eaton High Power TVS Diodes are available in surface-mount and radial or through-hole footprints in industry-standard sizes for both ESD and high-power suppression. Typical applications include 5G, consumer, computing, energy, industrial, and medical devices.

SMBJ 600W Transient Voltage Suppressors

Eaton Electronics SMBJ 600W Transient Voltage Suppressors offer less than 1μA typical IR above 10V, and a fast response time, typically less than 1.0ps from 0V to VBR minimum. The series provides 600W peak pulse power capability at 10/1000μs waveform and excellent clamping capability. The low-profile SMB UL 94V-0 packages are designed for surface-mounted applications to optimize board space. Eaton SMBJ 600W Transient Voltage Suppressors are suitable for high-temperature reflow soldering (+260°C/40s at the terminal) and feature terminals with solder-plated leads. Ideal applications include consumer electronics, telecommunications, computing and servers, appliances, industrial automation, mobile, and wearables.

Automotive-Rated HP TVS Diodes

Eaton Automotive-Rated High Power Transient Voltage Suppression (HP TVS) Diodes provide overvoltage protection for electronic equipment with fast response times, low clamping voltage, and high peak current capability. These highly reliable TVS diodes are AEC-Q101 qualified and come in both surface-mount and radial/through-hole footprints. The modules utilize silicon avalanche technology for excellent protection against damaging transient surges, from electrostatic discharge (ESD) to induced lightning. Eaton automotive-rated HP TVS diodes include product families that meet up to ISO 16750-2 5a and 5b standards. These diodes are ideal for protecting critical circuits.

5G Applications

Eaton Electronics offers an expansive portfolio of high-reliability components needed to drive 5G forward. Because 5G telecommunication units are typically placed in rugged environments, continuous uptime requirements for their operation and the reliability of the internal electronics are of great importance. A variety of components, often passives, can be readily added in key locations within 5G communications systems to enhance reliability and mitigate subcircuits susceptible to electrostatic discharge (ESD), electromagnetic interference (EMI), and electromagnetic pulse (EMP). Battery Management Systems

Eaton provides a wide portfolio of products for Battery Management Systems (BMS), including terminal blocks, fuses, supercapacitors, chokes, inductors, and more. Battery Management Systems monitor individual cells, system voltage, current, and temperature. When monitoring individual cells, the BMS balances voltages and regulates the current flow, and if the upper or lower voltage, current, or temperature limit is exceeded, the BMS temporarily disconnects the load or source. Eaton Battery Management Systems estimate the State of Health (SoH), State of Charge (SoC), State of Energy (SoE), and State of Power (SoP) in batteries.
